In an industry where competition runs rampant, choose to build people up. Having a scarcity mentality about your clientele is just as damaging to your business as feeling like you have to put other artists work down to make you look better. There are plenty of clients for everyone and let’s be honest we all have bad days. Always give a clients previous stylist the benefit of a doubt and Next time you can’t fit a client on your books in the timeframe they need, or if it’s not exactly a service you enjoy doing, try recommending them to a respected stylist you know and appreciate. Notice how you feel, and I promise your books will grow faster than you ever imagined.

Never underestimate the power of a solid lowlight piece. @jessicathenurse had the length but wanted more fullness in the front. Common in those blonde babes. We did 1 row with 6 pieces. 2 pieces of 18/60 with a 8 in the middle on each side with them overlapping to make 6 in the back. It turned out perfect with just the right amount of dimension. Do you add solid pieces in your blondes for dimension?

We gave her the refresh...

She came in for her move up after 8 weeks. Her own hair was still perfection so we didn’t have to touch it. We took out her extensions and gave them a good shampoo and toned to freshen with 10p and clear for 10 min. We reinstalled using @thesaltymethod and she was out the door in 2 hours! Now that’s magic!

We fixed all the major problems of the traditional extension holders so now you can blow dry the roots (and between each weft) of the extensions with ease, it fits the width of the full wefts AND my personal favorite thing is the suction is PERFECTION!! Are you taking the time at every appointment to look at the wefts as they come in? So many factors can causes your clients extensions to fade. The sun, not using the right products, time, and hard water, just to name a few.

Sometimes a toning gloss is what they need. Sometimes a lowlight and a tone. As the professional it is our job to make sure our clients are getting the most out of their hair and that is looks top notch every single time they walk out our door. I typically plan on 30 extra min for this if I don’t have my assistant with me that day.

Don’t skip this step. Your clients will appreciate the extra effort and you will have more pride in your work as they leave you with a new found confidence in themselves.

When Bella came in her hair had faded. She was originally a number 4 in #saltyhair but had faded after 6 months to more of a number 6 in saltyhairextensions. We freshened her and her #handtiedhairextensions and she left a new woman. Formula breakdown below..

Equal parts 5n and 4nb and the half of that with the new #redkenshadeseq color 6abn. I let it sit on the extensions 12 minutes and her hair 15 minutes. That 6abn color is amazing for cutting warmth but keep in mind it will appear a level darker because Of the ash undertones! .

I have been a hair stylist for 14 years, and have spent the last 6 years specializing in handtied hair extensions. Three years into building my dream clientele I noticed the quality of handtied hair had diminished. I decided to take matters into my own hands. For the next two years I began searching for and perfecting my own hairline.

I launched @saltyhairextensions a little over a year ago and connection and providing quality hair to the most elite stylists in the business have become top priority in my business.

It’s been a journey and recently as I have made so many connections with new stylists I have found so many of you are exactly where I was just a few short years ago. Stressed and running as fast as they can to make ends meet. So I have begun to help stylists do what I did as I help them take their stress and turn it into success finding balance in life and business.

@thejadebennett has 2 rows. The first row is 6 pieces of super double drawn bondi and Miami Beach. The top row is switched with 2 Miami to 1 bondi piece with 6 more pieces.

Jade has super fine hair, but a lot@of it@so we need 12 pieces to allow a good natural blend since we are adding over 4” of length which is always my rule! When adding more than 2” you need 2 rows! .

This is not uncommon to see this time of year. I’m not going to lie, this week has been a real

I’m not going to lie, this week has been a real doozy. Like crap piles on top of crap piles, and I know I can not be the only one who feels this way! But here’s the thing, I refuse to let 2020 win. I refuse to give up on my goals. Even if it seems right when I catch momentum, something seems to knock me down. But I am going to choose to KEEP GOING! Do something, anything that can get me just a little closer to my goals. This has been a rough week for me, but I will NOT let 2020 win!
